Ahli-Sidab drub Muscat to keep HM’s Cup

Our friends at Ahli Sidab won the HM Cup for the second year in a row. Congratulations go to Waleed and his team mates. News Report below:

Sizzling Ahli-Sidab lifted the 2012 His Majesty's Cup Hockey Championship title by mauling a hapless Muscat 5-1 in the final at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex yesterday.
The defending champions Ahli-Sidab started off in a whirlwind fashion and maintained their domination throughout the match to retain the Sultanate's premier hockey title. Almost all players contributed their bit in designing the superb win but Darshan who struck two goals was outstanding.
After 18 minutes of tight marking and protecting their citadel from relentless pounding by ruthless Ahli-Sidab, Muscat's resistance caved in in the 19th minute when the ever-dangerous Darshan hit home the opening goal for Ahli-Sidab.
Having tasted success Ahli-Sidab craved for more and got another three minutes later through Saleh Saadi, and Darshan scored the third goal in the 29th minute before the teams trooped out for the breather.
The eventual champions opened the second half in the same vein as the first as Khalid Juma consolidated their position in the 49th minute while Samir rounded off the tally in the 56th minute.
Muscat got a consolation goal in the 53rd minute through A Hussain.
Minister of Oil and Gas Dr Mohammed bin Hamad al Rumhy was the chief guest on the day.
