Foxes 3 - 4 Sidab

23/03/2014 10:33

Another great game against a youthful Sidab side saw the Foxes narrowly defeated after a nailbiting finish. The Foxes started well absorbing the pressure from their younger and fitter opponents and defending a number of short corners. The breakthrough came following a break away from the midfield with Auke Vriens finishing well past the Sidab keeper. In the second period a familiar pattern continued with Sidab dominating possesion and territory and Foxes limited to break away attacks with Sidab getting a well worked equaliser towards the end of the second period. The third and final period saw the visitors beginning to tire and Foxes were rewarded with another break away goal with Jim Dick beating the keeper one on one to restore the lead, Sidab came back hard and forced a number of short corners but a combination of good defending and a number of good saves kept them at bay and once again the foxes broke and scored again through Yuri after good work from Brendan. Not a lot needs to be said about the last three minutes of the game when Sidab scored 3 goals to take the match 4-3, lessons have been learned and the Foxes will come back stronger for the next encounter!
